The Men’s Club will be hosting the Lenten Fish Fry again after a two year hiatus due to Covid. This is a fun dinner event for the whole family. BIBLE STUDY NEWS! When you think of the "Holy Spirit" what comes to mind? A dove of peace like at Jesus' baptism? Tongues of fire like at Pentecost? Or is it hard to picture the Holy Spirit and therefore figure out where the Spirit fits into our lives? Our Winter/Spring Bible Study, "The Holy Spirit in Scripture," will start up on Tuesday, February 7, at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center. Meeting dates will 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28, 3/14, 3/21, and 3/28. This study unpacks key Scripture passages, exploring the activity of the Spirit at creation, within Israel, in the ministry of Jesus and the early church, and at the end of time. The role of the Holy Spirit in our personal lives is also explored. The same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead lives within us. Let's explore this mind-boggling reality! Sometimes women today face unexpected pregnancies resulting in fear. They need our support, both spiritual and practical, to help them say, "yes" like Mary did.
By popular demand, we will once again give parishioners the opportunity to, "Spiritually Adopt" a baby in danger of abortion by praying every day for this new life, and in 9 months we will have a "Baby Shower" and donate our new baby items to Corona Life Services. You will also have the opportunity to donate towards a permanent memorial marker to the unborn to be placed on the St. Matthews grounds. Look for the table outside of Mass the weekend of March 25/26 to Spiritually Adopt your baby boy or girl.
